And so a new adventure begins…
I find myself on the precipice of a new adventure. In the final stages of planning our relocation to Florida, I am taking stock in how far I’ve come. Let me tell you, I’ve come a long way baby!!
My life has been marked with invention and reinvention of the self. The difference now is I realize that I may not have felt it, but my pilot light was always on. You know what I mean, who I am at the core and what is REALLY important to me. That has never changed. The other day, I was gathering my “stuff” for the move and took a proverbial stroll or two down memory lane. I had a very powerful experience; a major realization. My pilot light NEVER went out. It may have been obscured, but it never went out.
There is a foundation principle that comes to mind as I ponder this realization; each of us is greater and wiser than we appear to be. What brings this to mind is an entry I would like to share from a past journal. I think it epitomizes this foundation principle.

“To whom it may concern:
Actually it doesn’t have to concern anyone.
This is the end of this chapter of my life. …
Please never lose sight of your goals. You cannot run your life so that maybe you can keep someone in your life. It is not worth it. If someone doesn’t want you the way you are than it is not right. Never compromise your beliefs for anyone. Not even your parents, especially not to get someone. You’ll only end up hurting yourself. You’ll also lose sight of who you are. If there is anything that is a horrible feeling than that is losing sight of yourself.
Don’t ever let any person pull you down with them and not matter how much it may hurt be honest with yourself. In the long run you’ll be happier without it. Nothing, not love, money or power is worth compromising yourself. You will always be able to rationalize everything but deep down in your heart and in the back of your mind, you’ll know what must be done. As long as you procrastinate the more you will prolong the inevitable. The hurt goes away with time and the sooner to get it over with the better…”
What wisdom, naiveté… what Truth! So often we say if I knew then what I know now. But hey, I already knew my truth. I had already tapped into my greater knowledge. It is in the deeper knowledge, understanding, and trust that exists in me today that I am able to share and bring forth new and exciting adventures in my life. My hope is that my experiences will help others to tap into their own pilot lights and generate their own amazing adventures. Living life with their pilot lights leading the way. Taking the time and care to stoke their inner flames and live in their full energy and light.
The past 18 months has been an intense journey to nourish my pilot light and stoke my inner flame. I had lost sight of my gifts and talents and replaced them with a lot of anger, frustration and catabolic energy. (and a whole lot of turning a blind eye.) In hind sight, I can see where I compromised and did not hold true to my values. Then again, they say, hind sight is 20/20. In looking back we can assign whatever definition of the events of our lives we care to. That is exactly what I am doing with one exception. I am consciously choosing NOW rather than looking back. This shift for me has made a massive difference in my life – in all areas of my life.
Yesterday is gone and tomorrow will never come. So today, I choose to live in abundance, joy and love. Once again, I’d like share with you something that Bruce D. Schneider shared with us during our coach training, “Look past your reflection in the mirror and see the truth, I am always, and in all ways, greater than I think…I AM.”
I invite you to share with me some of what this foundation principle means for you.

Please do and share you thoughts.

You are so right, Kerry, when you take the time to slow down and live in the moment, life offers so much more abundance and opportunity. It is amazing how we get so caught up in focusing on what we want and less on what we already have.
Just by slightly shifting our views, we are able to experience more that the Universe has in store for us.
Thanks for this piece. It was great.
